Alejandro A. Chafuen is Managing Director, International at the Acton Institute. He was president and CEO of Atlas Network from 1991-2018 and is Chairman of the Board of the Chase Foundation of Virginia. A graduate of Grove City College and the Argentine Catholic University, Buenos Aires, he also holds a PhD in economics which he received under the mentorship of Dr. Hans Sennholz, a disciple of Ludwig von Mises. 

He is a frequent commentator on economics, security, and strategic threats in Latin America, as well as on the relationship between economics and ethics. Chafuen is a contributor for Forbes.com and is the author of Faith and Liberty, which has been published in several languages and in different editions in Spanish, Slovenian, China, Czech, Italian, and Portuguese. 

He is one of the world's leading commentators on the economic thought of Thomistic and Late-Scholastic thinkers. He is past president of the Philadelphia Society (2017-2018) and since 1980, a member of the Mont Pèlerin Society.
