Tom Vogt is Chief Financial Officer at the Acton Institute, with over 20 years’ experience in non-profit financial management. He completed his BS-Accounting at Bethel College (KS) and has been a CPA since 1991. Tom joined Acton in 2007. In this position he oversees all financial activities of the organization including reporting, investments, information technology, regulatory and funder compliance, budgets, and risk management. Tom also collaborated with Acton Media on several projects including PovertyCure, Poverty, Inc. and The Good Society with producer responsibilities.

Prior to Acton, Tom served for six years as Controller of Church Extension Investors Fund, a Chicago area non-profit family of denominational investment and loan funds serving the North American Baptist Conference with $75 million under management. He also has 12 years’ experience with Leitz Tooling Systems, a woodworking tooling company, as well as 2 years with the CPA firm Mierendorf and Company in Grand Rapids.

Tom is originally from Kansas and still identifies as a Jayhawk, although Grand Rapids, Michigan is now home where he lives with his wife and where they raised three children.
