Mr. Joseph A. Morris, a graduate of the college and the law school of the University of Chicago, is a partner in the law firm of Morris & De La Rosa, with offices in Chicago and London, maintaining an active practice in constitutional, business, labor, and international law. Mr. Morris served under President Reagan as assistant attorney general of the United States in charge of international affairs and director of the Department of Justice Office of Liaison Services. A leader in B’nai B’rith, he is also a member of the advisory board of Catholic Citizens of Illinois.
Rev. Robert A. Sirico is the president and co-founder of the Acton Institute. Rev. Sirico serves on the staff of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Grand Rapids. In his new book, Defending the Free Market: The Moral Case for a Free Economy, Rev. Sirico shows how a free economy is the best way to meet society’s material needs. Only if we have economic rights can we protect ourselves from government encroachment into the most private areas of our lives – right down to our consciences.
Ms. Heather Wilhelm is a Chicago-based writer and a regular columnist for RealClearPolitics.com. Heather serves as a senior fellow at the Illinois Policy Institute, a member of the Chicago committee of America’s Future Foundation, and sits on the board of governors for Opportunity International, a Chicago-based microfinance group providing small business loans to impoverished entrepreneurs around the world. She holds an M.A. in social sciences from the University of Chicago and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in English from Northwestern University.
