GLOBAL LEADERS IN BUSINESS AND ETHICS EXPLORE WAYS TO HUMANIZE CAPITALISM AT MARCH 2 PANEL IN NEW YORK CITY
NEW YORK, NY January 28, 2011 – Four global luminaries in the fields of business and ethics will explore strategies to deepen the human dimensions of capitalism at a panel in New York City on Wednesday, March 2.
The panel is comprised of four of the world's most highly respected specialists in the ethical dimensions of business and economics, including:
- Frederic de Narp, CEO of Harry Winston, Inc.
- Matthew Bishop, New York Bureau Chief of The Economist; co-author of Philanthrocapitalism: How Giving Can Save the World
- Anil Singh-Molares, CEO of EchoMundi; Founder of the Compassionate Action Network
- Rev. Robert A. Sirico, Founder and President of the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty
The panel – called Business and Compassion: Re-Humanizing Our Economy – takes place on Wednesday, March 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the American Bible Society headquarters at 1865 Broadway (61st St.) in Manhattan.
“These distinguished panelists will focus on the world’s most promising models for combining profitability with humanitarian sensibilities,” said Fr. Paul Anel, executive director of Heart's Home USA and the International Center for a Culture of Compassion. “The 2008 financial crisis underscored the need to make business more responsive to human concerns.”
Hosted by Catholic charitable network Heart's Home USA, the International Center for a Culture of Compassion, and the American Bible Society, the event's audience is expected to attract a wide range of businesspeople, academics and ethicists.
