Responsibilities

Acton Institute Research department focuses its efforts on performing qualitative research on the foundations of a free and virtuous society – helping connect our faith to sound economic thinking. Through Acton’s publishing arm, the research department releases between 12 and 20 books each year. In addition, they publish the quarterly Journal of Markets and Morality which is a peer-reviewed academic journal that promotes the intellectual exploration of the relationship between economics and morality from both a social science and theological perspectives.

Research interns will dedicate most of their time to assisting the Acton Institute research staff with qualitative research projects. This will involve editing and footnoting for Acton publications as well as other peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • A strong grasp of Acton core principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience conducting qualitative research at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Editorial publication experience
