Frans van Deursen (1931) was ordained to the ministry of the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands (Liberated) in Barendrecht in 1957 and served congregations in Haarlem, Apeldoorn, and Wezep. He was a minister in the Nederlands Gereformeerde Kerken (NGK) from the late 1960s until his retirement in 1986. He currently resides in Barneveld with his wife, and has four children and fourteen grandchildren. He has authored a number of commentaries in the Opening the Scriptures series, on both Old and New Testament books. He continues to preach regularly and to contribute volumes for Opening the Scriptures.
