A virtual event
Tuesday, Nov. 19
Noon - 4 pm EST

The 2024 PovertyCure Summit, “Dignity, Agency, & Charity,” is a virtual event for people seeking to address problems of poverty and promote human flourishing in their own communities and abroad. Participants will learn from scholars and practitioners involved in the global struggle against poverty—and against “toxic charity” that hinders people’s ability to rise. Covering topics like the effects of foreign aid on human dignity, the critical importance of empowering impoverished households, and better approaches to the problems of housing and homelessness, this conference will give participants fresh insights on some of the biggest challenges facing impoverished peoples and those trying to help them.

Registration

Register to participate in the Summit from noon to 4 pm EST on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The program will include breaks for discussion and live chat for questions. In addition to the main program, the conference will include several international panels on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

What is the PovertyCure Summit?

The PovertyCure Summit is the Acton Institute’s biennial conference on causes and solutions to domestic and global poverty. Rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition and promoting the creative capacity of all human persons, the PovertyCure Summit convenes scholars, practitioners, and volunteers from around the world in a virtual setting to “rethink poverty.”

PovertyCure

PovertyCure is an initiative of the Acton Institute that seeks to ground the battle against local and global poverty in a proper understanding of the human person and society, and to encourage solutions that foster opportunity and unleash the entrepreneurial spirit that already fills poverty-stricken areas of the developed and developing world.
