History
Founded in 1979 by Gerard Berghoef and Lester DeKoster, Christian’s Library Press has been committed to publishing influential texts on church leadership, the vocation of work, and stewardship for almost 40 years. The Acton Institute has administered the imprint since 2009, and the imprint has been expanded to include books on the relationship between the church and civil society, as well as academic studies and translations in the fields of economics, ethics, and law.

Submissions Policy
Christian’s Library Press does not accept unsolicited manuscripts. We encourage you to upload your manuscript to Christian Manuscript Submissions. This service allows authors to submit their manuscript proposal in a secure, online format for review by editors from publishing houses that are members of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

Rights Information
Fair Use
Text may be quoted in any form (written, visual, electronic or audio), up to and inclusive of 500 words or less without written permission, and it does not account for 25% or more of the total text of the work in which they are quoted. This permission is contingent upon an appropriate copyright acknowledgment.
Summary of Fair Use Guidelines (All Must Apply)
- No more than 500 words in total may be reproduced without permission.
- No more than 25% of the text may be reproduced without permission.
- Total words may not make up more than 25% of the new work.
- All quotes/excerpts must be properly cited.
- Churches and educational organizations requesting to use a small selection of material for church bulletins, sermons or classroom use that falls within our Fair Use guidelines, formal written permission is not necessary. Churches may use stand-alone quotations/scripture in sermons, bulletins, newsletters, or to be shown on a screen (PowerPoint or overhead projector) without asking permission provided the source is accurately cited (see below).
- Churches may photocopy either one chapter or less than 10% of the total work and up to twenty copies for church use only without asking permission. If more copies are needed, formal written permission is required (fees may apply).
- Churches must include copyright notice on each photocopy, if the book is in print and available for purchase this citation must include CLP's webpage, acton.org/pub/clpress.
