Pacifica Christian’s The Great Conversation series continues with Acton’s own co-founder and president, Rev. Robert A. Sirico. The well-known writer and commentator on religious, political, economic, and social issues will join with Pacifica Christian’s David Bahnsen for an evening conversation on The Free and Virtuous Society. Together, we will explore how we best take care of the least in harmony with free markets.
The highest ethic of our age often seems to be not getting caught. A cold and pragmatic view of free markets has created cynics of those who otherwise may be naturally warm to an economic worldview focusing on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We know that rooted in our nation’s founding is a fondness for free men and free markets, but is that same perspective found in our world’s creation? Does God have anything to say to us about our economic transactions with one another, and how our system of thought in this arena may best alleviate poverty and serve the cause of human flourishing?
Pacifica’s TGC program of dynamic lecturers, challenging question-and-answer sessions, and social gatherings will provide great fun and challenging conversations for participants. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to join with others in our community in conversations that will transform the way we live, study, work, and engage the world.
